Monstera ‘Thai Constellation Crème Brûlée’ is an exceptionally rare variegated Monstera prized for its warm, creamy caramel variegation. Unlike the classic Thai Constellation, this premium form features richer butterscotch tones, sweeping marbled patches, and dramatic sectoral variegation reminiscent of brûléed sugar. Large, glossy leaves with deep fenestrations make it a true centrepiece plant for collectors who want a statement of luxury.

  • Full Botanical Name: Monstera deliciosa ‘Thai Constellation Crème Brûlée’
  • Common Names: Crème Brûlée Monstera, Warm Thai Constellation, Caramel Variegated Monstera
  • Country and/or Region of Origin: Tissue-cultured cultivar developed in Thailand (parent species native to Central America)
  • Growing Conditions in Native Habitat: Parent species grows in warm, humid tropical forests as a climbing aroid, receiving dappled sunlight and rich organic soil

Care Guide

  • Care Guide:
  • Light: Bright, indirect light essential for maintaining warm creamy variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun to prevent leaf scorch.
  • Ideal Room: Large living rooms, bright hallways, plant rooms, offices, and conservatories with space to climb or spread
  • Feeding: Use a balanced aroid fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Avoid overfeeding, which can dull variegation.
  • Humidity: Thrives in 60–80% humidity; benefits from humidifiers or placement near other plants to maintain moisture levels.
  • Ideal Temperature: 20–28°C; protect from temperatures below 16°C.
  • Watering: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil is dry. Variegated Monsteras require slightly more caution—avoid soggy soil to prevent root rot.
  • Pet/Child Safe: Toxic (genus level) — contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals, harmful if ingested by pets or humans.
  • Soil Type: Chunky, fast-draining aroid mix with bark, perlite, pumice, and coco coir; roots prefer airflow
  • Propagation: Stem cuttings with at least one node and visible variegation; slow but reliable under warm, humid conditions
  • Eventual Height and Spread: Indoors 1.5–2.5 metres with support; large leaves can reach 40–60 cm across
  • Growth Rate: Moderate; variegation slows growth compared to green Monsteras
  • Pests and Treatment: Susceptible to thrips, spider mites, and mealybugs; treat quickly using neem oil or plant-safe insecticides
  • Repotting: Every 1–2 years; prefers a slightly snug pot but benefits from fresh, airy substrate
  • Pruning: Trim leggy stems and remove yellowing leaves; train onto a moss pole or support for larger leaf development
  • Air Purification: Excellent; known for filtering indoor air while offering bold, variegated visual impact
  • Folklore: Highly variegated Monsteras are symbols of abundance and prosperity—Crème Brûlée forms are considered “good fortune” plants due to their rarity and warm, golden marbling
