Meet the 'Splash' Parasitica—the speckled survivor of the jungle. With her thick, leathery leaves covered in a stunning "splash" of silver flecks, she looks like she’s been caught in a permanent rain shower. She’s one of the easiest Hoyas to grow, rewarding your care with massive clusters of fragrant, white-and-pink flowers!

  • The Formal Name: Hoya parasitica 'Splash' (syn. Hoya verticillata)
  • The Nickname: The Speckled Survivor
  • Roots: A widespread and hardy species native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.
  • Natural Vibe: Climbing vigorously through the tropical canopy, basking in bright, filtered light.

Care Guide

  • Care Guide:
  • Sunlight: She craves bright, indirect light! Higher light levels will make her silver "splashes" more intense and encourage heavy blooming.
  • Best Room: A bright living room window or a sun-filled office.
  • Snacks: A balanced Hoya or orchid fertiliser every 4 weeks during the growing season.
  • Tropical Feels: Appreciates humidity (50%+) but is very adaptable to normal indoor air.
  • Cosy Factor: Thrives in warmth (18–27°C). She’s very hardy and forgiving of temperature shifts.
  • Thirst: Let the top half of the soil dry out. She’s a succulent-type Hoya and hates being soggy.
  • Safety First: Non-toxic – safe for pets and children.
  • The Bedding: An extremely airy, chunky mix with plenty of bark and perlite.
  • Family Tree: Super easy to propagate via stem cuttings in water, moss, or perlite.
  • Space Needs: A vigorous climber that can trail or climb for 2 metres or more!
  • Speed: A moderate to fast grower—she’s built for expansion!
  • Uninvited Guests: Watch for mealybugs hiding in the leaf axils.
  • Moving Day: Repot every 2–3 years once she truly outgrows her current space.
  • Haircut: Never cut off the peduncles—she’ll bloom from them again and again!
  • Fresh Air: A beautiful, hardy, and efficient natural air-purifying vine.
  • Plant Lore: Her flowers are famous for their intense, sweet fragrance that can fill an entire room in the evening!
