  • Roots: A dryland cactus type grown for ribbed stems and low-water structure.
  • Natural Vibe: Bright light, excellent drainage and proper dry periods between waterings.

Care Guide
  • Care Guide:
  • Sunlight: Give very bright light and some direct sun if introduced gradually.
  • Best Room: A sunny windowsill or bright dry room is best.
  • Snacks: Feed sparingly in spring and summer with cactus fertiliser.
  • Tropical Feels: Dry normal home air suits it well; avoid damp, still conditions.
  • Cosy Factor: Keep frost-free and protect from cold wet roots.
  • Thirst: Water deeply but infrequently, then allow the mix to dry right through.
  • Safety First: Not pet-safe – keep away from cats, dogs and children who may chew the leaves or stems.
  • The Bedding: Use a gritty cactus mix with excellent drainage.
  • Family Tree: Propagation depends on the species, usually from cuttings or seed.
  • Space Needs: Give it space so the upright shape can develop safely.
  • Speed: Usually slow and steady indoors.
  • Uninvited Guests: Watch for mealybugs around ribs and growing tips.
  • Moving Day: Repot carefully when rootbound, using gloves and dry compost.
  • Haircut: Pruning is rarely needed.
  • Fresh Air: A sculptural low-water plant for bright positions.
  • Plant Lore: Cacti store water in their stems, so the dry period after watering is what keeps roots healthy.
