Meet Begonia 'Umbrella Hybrid'—an unusual Begonia hybrid with collector foliage appeal. The leaf shape and pattern make it a character plant rather than a standard foliage Begonia. Stylish, unusual and full of character, she is a brilliant choice for adding something special to the plant shelf.

  • The Formal Name: Begonia 'Umbrella Hybrid'
  • The Nickname: Umbrella Hybrid Begonia
  • Roots: A cultivated Begonia hybrid selected for ornamental leaves.
  • Natural Vibe: Warm bright conditions with careful watering and airflow.

Care Guide
  • Care Guide:
  • Sunlight: Bright indirect light is best; avoid hot direct sun that can scorch patterned leaves.
  • Best Room: A bright shelf, terrarium-style setup or warm plant corner works well.
  • Snacks: Feed lightly during active growth.
  • Tropical Feels: Humidity helps, but good airflow is just as important for Begonia leaves.
  • Cosy Factor: Keep warm and avoid cold wet compost.
  • Thirst: Water the soil, not the leaves, when the top layer begins to dry.
  • Safety First: Not pet-safe – keep away from cats, dogs and children who may chew the leaves or stems.
  • The Bedding: Use a light airy mix with perlite for drainage.
  • Family Tree: Many foliage Begonias propagate from leaf or stem cuttings.
  • Space Needs: Give leaves space so patterns are visible and dry quickly after watering.
  • Speed: Steady in warmth and bright filtered light.
  • Uninvited Guests: Watch for mildew, fungus gnats, mealybugs and thrips.
  • Moving Day: Repot gently into a modest pot when roots fill the current one.
  • Haircut: Remove tired leaves to keep the plant fresh.
  • Fresh Air: A decorative foliage plant for customers who love pattern and texture.
  • Plant Lore: Foliage Begonias are all about the leaves; keeping those leaves dry and airy is the secret to a smart-looking plant.
